Overall permit to inject beam into the LHC
The “setup beam” flag is true when the beam intensity is below given a given threshold, which depends on the energy. Under these safe-beam conditions, some beam interlocks can be masked to facilitate machine studies. Above these thresholds, typically in higher-luminosity fills, “setup beam” is false, and all interlocks are on.
